Blindex® Australia is a plantation shutter manufacturer. Your shutters are cut, built and checked at our own factory at 70 Moon Street, Moolap, in Victoria, and fitted by our own installers across Melbourne and the Geelong region.
Plenty of window furnishing companies say Australian made. It is worth knowing what the phrase is covering, because it is often assembly: components arrive from overseas, get screwed together locally, and are sold under an Australian name.
We cut, machine and assemble here. The boards, stiles and rails are cut to your window on our own machines, the dowel holes are drilled to the centre of a 19.05mm board, and the panels are put together and checked before they leave. If a blade is wrong, it is our blade and our mistake, and we fix it.
Every opening is measured by our own team, to the millimetre, and those measurements go straight into the factory as the cutting list. Nobody re-types them and nobody rounds them to the nearest standard size.
That is why the panel layout on your quote is the panel layout you get. You will see it in 3D before you agree to anything.
Because the factory is here, a change is a phone call rather than a shipping container. Most orders are made and installed within a few weeks of you approving the quote, and we confirm the timing in writing when the order is placed.
Imported shutters are typically six to eight weeks, and a fault means starting that clock again.
The same business measures, manufactures and installs. There is no retailer in the middle taking a margin, and nobody to pass you to when something needs adjusting. You get one number to call.
